Stitching Cantilever Beam Ceremony Held at Section 6 Kuantan, Pahang

6 October 2022, CCC-ECRL recorded another major milestone as it completed the first stretch of major bridge construction using the balance cantilever method in Section 6 said, Mr.Liu Jianming, Head of Construction of China Communications Construction (ECRL) on this final stitching ceremony today.

The ceremony was held in Section 6 Kuantan Pahang. The special guests who attended the ceremony were from the Deputy General Director, Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) Pahang, En. Rukairulzam Bin Ab Rahman, JKR Pahang representative, Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) Head of Construction, En.Noor Azlan Salleh and China Communications Construction (ECRL) Deputy Project Director cum Chief Engineer, Mr. Deng Bo and other relevant officers.

“With the determination, effort and hardwork from CCC Section 6, the stitching segment is achieved two months ahead of a planned date despite many challenges faced upon completion”, said En. Noor Azlan Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) Head of Construction.

The achievement is made more significant as the bridge were constructed based on the 100-year average recurrence interval flood level along 3.88km crosses Jalan Kuantan-Sg.Lembing and Kuantan River. Observation has been made on the calculations and requirements studied before, the elevated railway tracks and bridge were built in flood-prone areas to ensure train services will not be disrupted during floods.

Deputy General Director of the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) Officially Visit to ECRL Project in Section 7, Bentong

On October 3rd, The Deputy General Director of the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) from Putrajaya, YBrs IR.Hj Mohd Hatta bin Zakaria and the delegation from other states DOSH director on their official visit to ECRL project in Section 7, Bentong, Pahang.

The deputy director and the delegation was welcomed by En.Yusni Shahadan, Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) Regional Construction Manager and Dato’ Osman bin Haron, SHE Director of China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd.   

The visit began with a welcome speech and safety briefing at the Safety Experience Hall followed by the technical briefed by CCC-ECRL representative. The delegation also were briefed on the current construction progress. Then, they took a tour of around the Safety Experience Center which was built to provide safety training to our workers and also Operational Safety Control Room.

While safety demonstration were being carried out, the delegation was amazed and impressed to see the advanced technology being used to provide the safety training to all workers. YBrs IR.Hj Mohd Hatta bin Zakaria said he hopes, this technology can be standardize in a future for all safety precautionary action, training and practices.

The delegation then proceeded to visit the Genting Tunnel. During the visit, the delegation was very satisfied with the progress, automation and the machinery used for the construction of the tunnel. In addition, the total length of Genting Tunnel is 16.4km, which is the longest tunnel in ECRL project.

CCC-ECRL Inked Supplementary Agreement on Wildlife Management Plan to Safeguard Flora and Fauna

30 September 2022- CCCECRL inked the supplementary agreement with the department of Wildlife and National Parks’ (PERHILITAN), Peninsular Malaysia today to further enhance the implementation of the Wildlife Management Plan, an initiative for wildlife conservation and mitigation works along the 665-kilometre East Coast Rail Link’s alignment.

The ceremony was held today at the department of Wildlife National Parks’ (PERHILITAN), Peninsular Malaysia’s Office.

Among the special guests who attended the ceremony were YBhg. Dato’ Abdul Kadir bin Abu Hashim, Director General of Wildlife and National Parks’ (PERHILITAN), YBhg Dato’ Fakhrul Hatta bin Musa, Deputy Director General (Conservation) of Wildlife and National Parks’ (PERHILITAN), YBhg. Dato Sri Darwis Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), Mr Kong Qi, Managing Director of China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd (CCCECRL), Mr Deng Bo, Deputy Project Director Cum Chief Engineer of China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd and Madam Grace Cheng, Corporate Director of China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd and other relevant officers.

The supplementary agreement is an extension of the collaboration period between CCCECRL and PERHILITAN through a Memorandum of Agreement that has been ongoing since 2018. “The purpose of the fund allocated is to work with PERHILITAN to further establish environmental safeguards and ensure that environmental-friendly initiatives are taken for the construction of the ECRL and also developing the project without endangering the natural habitats of wildlife along the alignment ”, said CCCECRL Managing Director Mr Kong Qi.

He further elaborates several significant steps have been taken by the environmental experts and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA) to reduce the impact on the natural habitats as much as possible. PERHILITAN Director General Dato’ Abdul Kadir bin Abu Hassan on other hand mentioned, “The total allocation of the funds pledged will go into the implementation of the Wildlife Management Plan initiatives, which include wildlife mitigation and conflict control, human-elephant conflict study, public awareness and habitat enrichment, spanning across the years of the collaboration period.”
